Hi, I’m Laura.

FAQ
Do you offer online and in-person piano lessons?
Yes. I offer in-person piano lessons in the Canton of Zug and surrounding areas, as well as online lessons worldwide.
Both formats follow the same structured approach and learning goals. Online lessons are carefully adapted using high-quality video tools and interactive materials to ensure clarity, engagement, and steady progress.
What ages do you teach?
I teach children (from around age 6), teenagers, and adults.
Lessons are always adapted to the student’s age, experience level, goals, and learning pace. Whether a student is just starting or returning to the piano after a break, lessons are designed to be motivating, clear, and effective.
Do i need a piano at home to start?
Yes, students should have regular access to a piano or digital piano at home in order to practice between lessons.
A full acoustic piano is not required to begin. A weighted-key digital piano is perfectly suitable, especially for beginners. I’m happy to give guidance if you’re unsure what instrument is best for your situation.
How long is a lesson and how often do students usually come?
Younger children usually start with 30-minute lessons, while older students and adults typically take 45 or 60 minutes.
Most students attend once per week, which allows for consistent progress and healthy practice habits. Lesson frequency can be adjusted if needed, especially for adults with limited availability.
What happens if i need to cancel a lesson?
If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, I kindly ask for at least a 24 hours advance notice.
Clear cancellation policies are discussed during the trial lesson so expectations are transparent from the start. This helps ensure fairness and consistency for all students.
Do i need to buy materials in advance?
No. All learning materials are introduced gradually as needed.
I provide guidance on method books, sheet music, and supplementary resources at the right moment in the learning process. There’s no need to purchase anything in advance before starting lessons.
Do you also teach music theory?
Yes. Music theory is integrated naturally into piano lessons.
Students learn theory through practical application at the piano — including note reading, rhythm, harmony, and musical structure — so it always supports real playing and musical understanding.
Do you prepare students for exams?
Yes, I can prepare students for music exams and school music programs, when this aligns with the student’s goals.
Exam preparation is structured and realistic, with a strong focus on solid technique, musical understanding, and confident performance.
