TEACHING APPROACH

My teaching combines classical piano training with modern, engaging methods to help students progress with confidence and clarity.

Lessons focus on:

  • Healthy piano technique and posture
  • Reading music and rhythm skills with confidence
  • Musical expression from the very beginning
  • Clear, effective practice strategies that actually work

For younger students, I use games, visual aids, and creative exercises to keep learning engaging.
For teens and adults, lessons focus on efficient practice methods, repertoire development, and musical understanding.

The goal is simple:
long-term progress, confidence, and enjoyment during lessons.

YOUR PIANO TEACHER

Hi, I’m Laura.
I’m a professional piano teacher with classical training and experience teaching children, teenagers, and adults online.

I believe piano lessons should be thoughtful and well-paced, and adapted to each student — not rushed, not generic.

My goal is to help students build solid fundamentals, gain confidence at the piano, and enjoy making music, whether they are just starting or returning after a break.

WHY STUDENTS WORK WITH ME

I started piano lessons as an adult with no previous experience, and I was honestly nervous. Laura made the process clear, structured, and motivating from the very first lesson. I can see real progress, and for the first time I actually enjoy practicing.
Daniel M.
Adult Piano Student (Online)
She is very motivating and patient. When something doesn’t work right away, she stays calm and keeps practicing with me until I understand it and can play it confidently.

Annabelle B.
Piano Student (In-Person)
I returned to the piano after many years and needed guidance again. Laura adapts each lesson to my pace and goals, and her explanations finally make things click. I feel confident again at the piano.
Sofia R.
Adult Piano Student (Online)
She has been my piano teacher for about four years, and I always find the lessons engaging and inspiring. I really enjoy learning with her, and I consider her an excellent teacher. I would absolutely recommend her.

FAQ

Do online piano lessons really work?

Yes. When lessons are well structured and adapted to the student, online piano lessons can be just as effective as in-person lessons. Students receive clear guidance, feedback, and structured progress.

I teach children online (from around age 7), teenagers, and adults.

Lessons are always adapted to the student’s age, experience level, goals, and learning pace. Whether a student is just starting or returning to the piano after a break, lessons are designed to be motivating, clear, and effective.

Yes, students should have regular access to a piano or digital piano at home in order to practice between lessons.

A full acoustic piano is not required to begin. A weighted-key digital piano is perfectly suitable, especially for beginners. I’m happy to give guidance if you’re unsure what instrument is best for your situation.

Younger children usually start with 30-minute lessons, while older students and adults typically take 45 or 60 minutes.

Most students attend once per week, which allows for consistent progress and healthy practice habits. Lesson frequency can be adjusted if needed, especially for adults with limited availability.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, I kindly ask for at least a 24 hours advance notice.

Clear cancellation policies are discussed during the trial lesson so expectations are transparent from the start. This helps ensure fairness and consistency for all students.

No. All learning materials are introduced gradually as needed.

I provide guidance on method books, sheet music, and supplementary resources at the right moment in the learning process. There’s no need to purchase anything in advance before starting lessons.

Yes. Music theory is integrated naturally into piano lessons.

Students learn theory through practical application at the piano — including note reading, rhythm, harmony, and musical structure — so it always supports real playing and musical understanding.

Yes, I can prepare students for music exams and school music programs, when this aligns with the student’s goals.

Exam preparation is structured and realistic, with a strong focus on solid technique, musical understanding, and confident performance.
